Description
Proof that “bigger is better;” the SCR-15sm “Screen Channel” loudspeaker utilizes large format professional-grade components to reproduce all the acoustic scale and weight of Cinematic soundtracks. At its foundation, a 15-inch woofer employs a massive motor system with 4-inch voice coil to maximize thermal power handling, allowing the SCR-15sm to produce sustained loud volume levels without harsh distortion or dynamic compression. Like all PRO cinema loudspeakers, the crossover of the SCR-15sm is accomplished in DSP and therefore eliminates dynamic compression associated with traditional home audio loudspeakers that have to rely on passive crossover networks in the signal path. By direct coupling the drivers to the output stage of its companion DPA amplifier, power transfer is maximized, as is damping factor, resulting in bass that is tight and highly defined. High frequencies are supplied by a 3-inch aluminum diaphragm compression driver mated to an optimized constant directivity horn with more than 396 square inches total radiating area. Dynamics are effortless, as the system’s movement of air produces a visceral presentation matched only by the live experience.
Designed as part of an integrated digital cinema system, the SCR-15sm and companion DPA amplifier employ proprietary Digital Signal Processing (DSP) for high-resolution crossover and time correction filters. Its drivers sum seamlessly to project life like images in three dimensional space; creating an all-encompassing soundfield equaled only by state-of-the-art commercial theater systems. Like all PRO loudspeakers, the SCR-15sm has been optimized for the 2-pi (flush mount) environment, assuring maximum resolution and vocal intelligibility when installed. Maximum output is >130dB, making the SCR-15 perfectly suited for mid sized and large room applications.
